Mayan Collection

Vanesa Castillo Martín

Many religions have their own beliefs about the existence of the world. But for the Mayans, how did it all start? much of our history with them. The Popol Vuh, was a compilation of all the stories that were had from the beginning of its existence and is known as "The Mayan sacred book". Part of this exhibition is to tell a little about Mayan beliefs , the stories that are told in this book. In each of the 7 works in this collection, hidden images can be found in the painting that seeks to represent them. It is one of the strongest and most knowledgeable cultures that has existed and continues to exist Unfortunately, a large part has been lost due to the discrimination that exists in our country towards the people of the original peoples, this is causing the loss of a language, a culture, a tradition and a history.

Exposition

Mayan Collection was presented on May 19 at the hotel The Westin Guadalajarain Jalisco, Mexico.

It is composed of 8 works of mixed technique, based on acrylic, collage and marble dust. With them we seek to represent the strength that Mexico has with elements or animals that were part of our history or of pre-Hispanic Mexico.

Collection

Everything was calm and silent, without movement. There were no people, animals, birds, fish, stones, only the sky was there. There was only the sea, there still in the dark. There were only the helpers of the heart of heaven, wise thinkers and creators, surrounded by light and green and blue feathers.

These thinkers began to create...
